Fried red onions are a crunchy topping for salads and stir fries. They add texture and the rich, savoury flavour of fried shallots.

The crispy, aromatic onions can be added to all kinds of dishes. Use them as a finishing touch for Thai curries, spicy stir fries and noodle soups. They’re great with steamed fish or tofu, adding flavour and textural contrast.

Fried red onions let you enjoy rich onion flavour without any peeling or chopping. You can sprinkle them on hot dogs, tacos and loaded fries. Try crushing them lightly and mixing with panko breadcrumbs or matzo meal. The onion flakes will enhance the flavour of chicken tenders and pork tonkatsu.
