Sale String Bag in Ecru French Ingredients|Picnicware

With a Filt string bag in ecru in your pocket or handbag, you’ll never need a plastic bag again. As well as being almost endlessly reusable, the ecru string bag is also made from organic cotton. It truly is the original ‘eco’ bag.

The Filt string bag in ecru is available in two handle lengths. Choose short handles for a bag to simply carry in the hand, or choose long handles for a bag you can pop over your shoulder.

String bags like these have been used in France for decades and were traditionally used to carry groceries. The strong cotton net bags squish down into almost nothing, so they’re a convenient way to make sure you always have a bag to hand.

Normandy-based Filt have been making string bags since 1860. Originally made by the peasant community, the workers eventually banded together into a formal company. Filt still knit the bags using traditional techniques passed down through generations. These lightweight, compact, yet durable bags find plenty of uses in modern life – from grocery shopping to trips to the library. They’re an ideal gift for anyone into classic French style.
