Sale Blackbird Pie Funnel, 9cm high Kitchen Tools & Utensils|Baking Supplies & Equipment

This classic-design, porcelain blackbird pie funnel, or pie bird, allows steam to escape from underneath a pie crust, preventing the pastry from going soggy. The traditional, blackbird pie funnel sits on the base of the pie dish, and pokes its head through the pastry, allowing steam to escape from its hollow beak. The base of its body also helps support pastry and prevents any sagging in the middle. It’s also sometimes known as a pie vent or crust holder.
