Mineral B Oval Roasting Pan French Ingredients|Pots & Pans

The De Buyer Mineral B oval roasting pan is the perfect shape for cooking a whole fish. It’s also ideal for roasting large joints of meat or a whole chicken, with plenty of space around the sides and at either end to add vegetables so all the flavours infuse together.

De Buyer’s Mineral B range of iron pans are coated with natural beeswax. This provides protection against rust. The beeswax also gives Mineral B pans enhanced non-stick properties on the first use compared to other iron pans.

Suitable for all hob types including induction.

SEASONING INSTRUCTIONS

The De Buyer Mineral B ‘oval roasting pan requires proper seasoning to keep it in top condition. Before the first use, use hot water and a soft sponge to remove the beeswax coating. Then season the pan – pour in just enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan and bring to a high temperature. When a smoky-haze appears remove it from the heat and wipe well with kitchen towel. Now the pan is ready to use.

Always ensure there is enough oil or natural fat (e.g. butter, lard) in the pan when using, then deglaze with hot water and wipe with a paper towel after use. If the pan needs washing, ensure it is completely dried and lightly-oiled before storing. Follow these steps and your pan will build up a dark patina that increases the pan’s non-stick properties. The more you use it, the more non-stick it will become.

This Mineral B oval roasting pan is 45.4cm long including the handles and 36cm across at the widest point. It is suitable for all cooking surfaces including induction.

Please note: due to the manufacturing process there may be scratches on the inner surface of the pan. This does not affect the quality of the product and will disappear with proper seasoning over time.

NOT dishwasher safe. To prevent rust do not leave to soak. PFOA and PTFE free. 100% recyclable.

All De Buyer Pans have a convex shape to the base of 1-2%. This stabilises the pan during the heating process and prevents the pan from potential warping.
