Clearance Nishikigoi Soy Sauce Dish, 10cm Japanese Tableware|Crockery & Dinnerware

The nishikigoi soy sauce dish is a stylish finishing touch for a Japanese-themed table. Use it to serve soy sauce and pickled ginger with sushi or a spicy dipping sauce with dumplings and tempura. A matching sushi plate is available to create an elegant dining set. The deep blue glazed dish is decorated with white and orange fish, inspired by Japan’s beloved koi.

Colourful koi (Japanese carp) were once kept by Japanese nobility in ornamental ponds. They are known as ‘living jewels’, thanks to their beautiful patterns and vibrant colours. You will often see stylised koi designs on Japanese textiles and homewares. The fish are a symbol of luck, prosperity, courage and resilience.
